Close Burgonet
Short Crest
16th C

This burgonet is built on the "close helm" principle. Both visor
and bevor rotate on a common pivot. The example shown has a lifting, pierced
visor. Other visor styles, such as barred visors and falling buffes can also
be made. The bevor is locked with a sneck hook on either side for safety, and
the visor has a spring pin latch that is double-locked by another sneck hook.

The pierced visor of this model allows surprisingly good breathability and vision
for a closed-face helm.

A tall comb version is also available, as is a fancier version with sunken and roped borders.
